Will Adoree Jackson Be Similar or Better than Devin Hester at the Pro Level?

I don’t usually compare players that are about to enter the NFL Draft to guys that are playing in the league right now because the hype that surrounds the man is based on what he will potentially do at the next level. However, I must say that USC star cornerback Adoree Jackson’s style of play is similar to former Miami Hurricane star Devin Hester when he was coming out of college. Hester’s position was a cornerback, but he spent a lot of time returning kickoffs during his time at Miami.

Devin also spent time as a wide receiver as well, but he found his niche in kickoff/punt returning. Hester’s ability to successfully return kickoff/punt returns for a touchdown is what eventually put him on the map with the Chicago Bears back in 2006. In the video below, it shows how dangerous Hester was during his hay day with the Chicago Bears.

Can Adoree Jackson have a similar or better career than Devin Hester at the pro-level? It all depends on the team that he gets selected by and how they decide to utilize his skill sets. At the college level, Jackson has demonstrated that he can excel at playing on both sides of the football, along with kick returning. I know that there are a few teams that could use the services of Jackson, but there’s one franchise that could maximize his potential to the highest level.

That team is the New Orleans Saints. One of the hallmarks of Sean Payton offense is the infamous screen pass that has changed the outcome of so many games for the Saints during his tenure in New Orleans. Adding Adoree to the Saints arsenal on offense could be a nightmare for defensive coordinators. Jackson could also be an upgrade to what they have at the cornerback position as well.

Delvin Breaux on one side and Adoree Jackson and the other could become a dangerous secondary that could help the Saints defense on so many levels. According to many draft experts, Adoree Jackson is a late first to second round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft if he decides to declare.

Whoever decides to select him will have a player that is capable of becoming one of the league’s most dangerous players that opposing teams will have to prepare for. The video below shows how much of an impact Adoree Jackson had on the Trojans football team.
