Free agent running back Arian Foster finally found a home. According to ESPN.Com, Foster will be “taking his talents to South Beach” as LeBron James would say, meaning he has signed with the Miami Dolphins on a one-year deal worth $3.5 million. There are many benefits of having a guy like Arian Foster on a team such as the Dolphins. Here are three of them.
1. Leadership Ability
The Miami Dolphins roster has players such as Ndamukong Suh, however; I do not view him as a leader in the Dolphins locker room. For those that know Arian Foster, they know that he is not afraid to voice his opinions on any issues that his team may have both on and off the field.
2. Adds Another Element to Adam Gase’s Arsenal
When Adam Gase was the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears last season, we witnessed how creative he was utilizing rookie tailback Jeremy Langford in the Bears offense. I expect him to do the same with Foster.
3. Able to Catch Passes Out of the Backfield
A running back like Arian Foster is capable of doing a lot of things. Listed at 6’1 227 lbs, Foster is capable of catching passes out of the backfield, which can result in extending plays that can lead to touchdowns.
