Yesterday evening when the Saints went on the road to face the San Diego Chargers, the Who Dat Nation felt like it was about to be Deja Vu all over again with this ball club. However, things would take a turn for the better with 4 minutes and 50 seconds left in the football game.
The Chargers had a 15-point lead until the Saints defense committed two turnovers that would cut the Chargers lead to seven followed by the second fumble that would give the Saints the lead.
Except for the Falcons game, the Saints were competitive in every contest this season and yesterday against the Chargers was no different. After the bye week, the Saints will host division rival the Carolina Panthers; the Saints should have the majority of their key starters on defense to go in the Week 6 crucial matchup.
The Panthers record will probably be 2-3 when they visit the Saints in Week 6. Regardless of records, both teams will be trying to gain some ground on division leader, the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saints defense showed that despite injuries to key personnel, they proved that they could step up and make plays at crucial moments. Will the Saints get back to 500 only to crash and burn once again? Saints have seen this story before.
