Denver Broncos outside linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP, Von Miller, finally got the money that he had always wanted when he signed a six-year worth $114.5 million with a league record $70 million guaranteed.
Miller’s new deal also makes him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history according to ESPN.Com. Today I listened to the replay of ESPN Radio’s The Right Time With Bomani Jones, he stated that there were many fans on various social platforms that said Von Miller should take whatever offer that the Broncos make to him.
Sorry to say this, but the window for these guys playing the game of professional football is very short and they must take advantage of the opportunity to maximize their potential when it comes to making money in the National Football League.
On top of that, the Broncos had no other choice but to a contract that you only hear quarterbacks signing in today’s National Football League. Miller, along with members of the Broncos vaunted defense lifted the team to their third Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Former Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning played the role of a game manager during the Broncos Super Bowl run in 2015. Fans also need to realize that the Broncos projected starting quarterback in 2016 is Mark Sanchez, let that resonate for a minute.
If this team is going to another deep playoff run, it will be on the shoulders of Von Miller and the Broncos defense, unless Mark Sanchez catches lightning in a bottle. That’s another story in itself.
