The Denver Broncos added another weapon to they’re already talented roster on offense. The Broncos traded for tight end Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers. In return, the 49ers received a 6th and a 7th round draft pick from the Broncos.
The Broncos did not give up that much to acquire Davis from the Niners. Peyton Manning once again will have the security blanket that he has always had throughout his career.
In Indianapolis he had Dallas Clark, in Denver it was Julius Thomas, now it’s Vernon Davis. Davis may be the best tight end that Manning will have in his career. Davis was putting up some big numbers when he played in San Francisco. He was also a dominant tight end before Jim Harbaugh arrived in San Francisco.
Now that Davis is on the Broncos roster, they will indeed be a much-improved offense in the second half of the season. The Broncos are indeed a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC. The Vernon Davis trade only increases their chances of getting to the big dance in February.
