The 49ers Go All In On Jimmy Garoppolo

The San Francisco 49ers front office has decided to put their trust in former Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the foreseeable future. The Niners signed Garoppolo to a five-year contract that is worth $137.5 million according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

It is also being reported that Garoppolo’s contract will be one of the most significant deals in NFL history. It only took head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch a few games to decide that Jimmy Garoppolo was going to be their quarterback of the future.

Garoppolo went 5-0 when he became the 49ers starting quarterback during the middle of the season. As a result of Jimmy’s outstanding play, the Niners improved to a record of 6-10 to finish out the 2017 regular season.

6-10 will not qualify a team for playoff contention, but when you acquire a guy like Jimmy Garropolo that was able to guide the team to five straight victories to close out the season, it gives the 49er fans something to look forward to in 2018.

The 49ers organization has a proven track record of having successful quarterbacks under center, from what I have observed, they may have found another gem in Jimmy Garropolo. Things have just gotten interesting in the NFC West.
