First place in the NFC East will be up for grabs when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. The Cowboys recently came from behind to defeat their division rival the New York Giants 24-21 on Sunday Night Football. They will look to knock off another division rival in the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow.
Just like years past the Cowboys defense is still giving up big plays, however, the biggest change from what we are seeing from this Cowboys team, than the one we saw last year. is that they run the football in the fourth quarter to protect the lead.
It is imperative that the Cowboys continue this trend against the Eagles. The Cowboys will have to deal with the Eagles two headed monster in LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.Even though McCoy is not having the type of season that he had a year ago he still can be headache for defensive coordinators.
As of today McCoy is currently ranked 4th in the league in rushing, if you asked me he didn’t take that much of a dive in his rushing statistics. The Eagles high paced offense will try to attack the Cowboys 19th ranked passing defense on each and every opportunity that they will have.
The Cowboys secondary will have to be on alert with the Eagles wide receivers. They cannot afford to give up big plays like the one that they gave up to Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham, in the Sunday Night match up. My prediction for this ballgame is that the Eagles will keep it close in the second half, but the Cowboys shall prevail at the end.
