The entire football world will be paying close attention to the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. The winner of this matchup will most likely have home field advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC. We all know that the home field advantage goes a long way with the Seattle Seahawks. They are an impressive 13-2 in home games dating back to last season. Unlike the once home dominant New Orleans Saints the Seattle Seahawks are not afraid to play on the road in hostile conditions that may involve nasty weather.
If you ask me I think they strive off being on the road in a hostile environment. Their philosophy is pretty simple pound the football with Marshawn Lynch and scare the living daylights out of wide receivers with that vaunted secondary led by Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been sensational this year in regards to leading this ball club to victories. Every Sunday he makes plays that makes you scratch your head and say things like “how the heck did he do that?” Wilson along with wide receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse will have to play lights out if they want to leave the desert with the division crown tomorrow.
The Cardinals defense is just as nasty as the Seahawks. Expect star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to duke it out with Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. It is the matchup that the fans want to see and I honestly believe that Sherman will not back down from the challenge.
I knew that the Cardinals would contend for a playoff spot this season but I didn’t expect them to be where they are right now ahead of the Seahawks at the present moment. Back in August I predicted that the Cardinals would have a 9-7 record and contending for a wild card spot in the playoffs.
So far they have exceeded my expectations for this season. My prediction for this game is that whichever defense gives up that explosive play will most likely lose this game. From the looks of it the Arizona Cardinals will give up that big play which will result in the Seattle Seahawks repeating as NFC West Champions.
