Two of the AFC’s successful franchises over the past ten years will face off on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots. Except Peyton Manning and the teams that he played with, the Baltimore Ravens has had more success against the Patriots than any other franchise in the league right now. There will be a lot on the line in this crucial primetime matchup.
The Ravens must win this game to stay ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the always tough AFC North. In regards to the Patriots, they have to win this contest because if not, the road to the Super Bowl for the AFC will come through Arrowhead. That’s if the Chiefs can keep the momentum going into the playoffs.
The Ravens will not have to worry about containing Pro-Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski in this contest, but we all know that Brady and Belichick will have a plan on how to replace Gronk’s production on the field. The Ravens defense better be prepared for what the Patriots will have in store for them this Monday Night. Their defense must put pressure on Tom Brady relentlessly in this matchup.
If they are successful in doing that, they will leave Foxborough with a victory. It is very rare that you see Bill Belichick outcoached by his opponent, but for some odd reason, John Harbaugh has had some success going against the four-time Super Bowl winning head coach.
My prediction for this ball game is that we will see the Patriots offense struggle significantly without Gronk in the lineup going up against a premier defense such as the Ravens. The Ravens will leave Gillette Stadium with a victory over the Patriots this Monday Night.
