Lions vs Cowboys: NFC Wildcard Prediction

Lions        27

Cowboys 34

The Dallas Cowboys have proved all of their haters wrong when they went undefeated in the month of December, in their pursuit of making the playoffs for the first time since 2009. They did what every fan had been begging them to do which is run the football late in the second half in order to protect the lead. They will have to come into this game with the same approach, these two ball clubs have had some memorable match ups in the past that has dated back to the 90s.

However I believe the last three match ups the Lions have owned the Cowboys by coming from behind in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys opponent the Detroit Lions head into this match up with one of the most talented rosters in the league that can put fear into opposing team at a moment’s notice.

The Lions have the fire power on offense and defense that can send “Da Boys” home early, however the question is will they use it? The Cowboys defense was ranked 26th against the pass during the regular season, the Lions have the perfect weapon on offense to expose that weakness in wide receiver Calvin Johnson, but he has not been himself all season long.

Don’t get me wrong a 90 percent Calvin Johnson is still better than having no Calvin Johnson at all in the Lions offense. My prediction for this match up is that the Lions give the Cowboys fits all game long until the fourth quarter, when Garrett and Romo figure out the Lions tactics and win this ball game. The Lions will continue to be “one and done” in the postseason until they learn how to show up on the road in big games such as this one.
