Jaguars vs Patriots: AFC Championship Game Prediction

For the seventh consecutive season, the New England Patriots will be playing in the AFC Championship Game. Their opponent is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Under the guidance of Tom Coughlin, the Jaguars are back to being mentioned as one of the league’s top football teams.

After watching them dismantle one of the best offenses in the league right now in the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have a legitimate shot at dethroning the Patriots tomorrow.

However, the difference between head coaches Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin is that Belichick is good at making second-half adjustments. You have heard this before from various football analysis about Belichick “taking away a team’s best player.”

If he is successful at eliminating the threat of Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette in tomorrow’s matchup, then Blake Bortles will have to perform much better than what he did against the Steelers in last week’s divisional round matchup.

We are not seeing the best version of the Patriots defense in 2017, so it will be interesting to see what plans that Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone will have for Blake Bortles in regards to rattling the Patriots defense. The Jaguars defense will be the toughest challenge that quarterback Tom Brady has seen all season.

The key to winning this football game for the Jaguars is that they need to take advantage of any mistakes that the Patriots may make in this contest. In recent memory, no team has been able to accomplish that not even if you have a 28-3 lead that’s facts.

My prediction for this football game is that the Jaguars defense will rattle Tom Brady quite a bit, but will fail to generate points on offense which would allow them to win this football game.
