New York Jets
The New York Jets were a game away from advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2010. With that being said, the New York Jets deserve some recognition in regards to having one of the best rosters in the National Football League.
To go along with that remark, the offensive side of the ball has been the best that we saw from the Jets in a long time. Brandon Marshall ranked 4th among all wide receivers with 1,502 receiving yards and 14 touchdown receptions.
On top of that Marshall’s counterpart, Eric Decker had over 1,021 receiving and 12 touchdown passes. The Jets decided to let running back Chris Ivory sign with another team via free agency, however; they brought in a talent that can do just as much as Ivory did in the Jets’ offense.
The team signed Bears free agent running back, Matt Forte, who has the potential to be a game-changer in the Jets offense this season. Regardless of who is on the Jets offense, the defense has always been the hallmark of this franchise. The Jets defense ranked 2nd in the league by only allowing 83.4 yards rushing.
Due to contract issues with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith will have an opportunity to revitalize his career this season. If offensive coordinator Chan Gailey can repeat what he did with Fitzpatrick last season, the Jets will be right in the mix for an AFC Wildcard spot.
