After coming off a season in which he had career-highs in receiving yards (1,519) and touchdown receptions (13) Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson was poised to have another breakout season in 2015, however; those hopes never came to the pass.
In the second game of the 2015 preseason, Nelson suffered a torn ACL injury that would sideline him for the remainder of the regular season. There were many football writers and analyst around the league who believed that the Packers offense would be just fine without Nelson’s presence in the lineup, they were dead wrong.
The Packers would start off the season with a 6-0 record, but when they would go up against teams that had the personnel to shut down their high-powered offense, the ball club would suffer. We witnessed how much Nelson’s presence was missed in the Packers offense.
Randall Cobb proved that he was indeed a compliment receiver to Nelson and Davante Adams never lived up to the preseason hype. These are the reasons why I have made the decision to name Jordy Nelson the best wide receiver in the NFC North. The Packers could have won some of the close games that they lost in 2015 and possibly gotten a higher seed in the NFC playoff picture.
