Broncos vs Raiders: Game of the Week Prediction

Broncos 28

Raiders  23

This Sunday, the Denver Broncos will travel to the Bay Area to take on the Oakland Raiders in the Week 9 Game of the Week. The Broncos head into this matchup tied with the Raiders for first place in the AFC West Division. After tomorrow night, one of these teams will have sole possession of the division. The Raiders have one of the most explosive offenses in the National Football League right now.

Their opponent the Denver Broncos have not faced an offense like the Raiders since the Week 5 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in which they lost 23-16. However, the Broncos were starting an inexperienced rookie quarterback in Paxton Lynch who stepped in for Trevor Semian that week.

The Broncos should be able to score points against the Raiders 31st ranked defense. With the Broncos offense being effective against the Raiders putrid defense along with a solid performance from the defensive side of the ball could become a winning formula for the team this Sunday.

Out of the two teams, the Broncos are the most complete. The Raiders defense can fall apart at any moment despite the team’s explosive output on offense. They will have to figure out a way to expose the Broncos “No Fly Zone” secondary to be successful this Sunday.

Their o-line must also keep Pro-Bowl linebacker Von Miller at bay, which could be the determining factor in the team losing this game or not. Another way that the Broncos can exploit the Raiders defense is by being committed to running the football on a consistent basis during the contest.

The Raiders rush defense is giving up a whopping (125.0) yards a game. My final prediction for this game is that the Raiders will put up a fight in the beginning, but the Broncos will leave the Coliseum with a victory and sole possession of the AFC West.
