7 Oregon 24
5 Michigan State 34
The last time these two ball clubs met, the Oregon Ducks were on their way to playing for the National Championship. As for the Spartans, their hopes of competing for a National Championship came to an end after their second loss of the season against the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2014. We are now in a brand new season and stakes are high once again.
This time the Ducks will take a trip down to East Lansing to take on the Spartans. The Oregon Ducks offense has not lost a beat since Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota decided to enter the NFL Draft. Quarterback Vernon Adams looked sharp in his first outing as the starting quarterback of the Oregon Ducks.
The vaunted Michigan State defense will be Adams first real test of the 2015 season. The Ducks opponent the Michigan State Spartans head into this contest motivated after what happened last year down in Eugene. For the Spartans to not repeat what occurred last year, their defense must figure out a way to slow down the fast pace offense of the Oregon Ducks.
The best way to do that is to keep Vernon Adams and the Ducks offense off the field and control the clock as much as possible. They have the right signal caller under center to accomplish that in Heisman hopeful Connor Cook. My prediction for this ball game is that the Spartans will avenge their 2014 loss to the Ducks, and continue to prepare for their showdown in Columbus with the Buckeyes.
