3 Louisville 34
5 Clemson 38
A lot of things will be a stake when the Louisville Cardinals go on the road to take on the Clemson Tigers. The winner of this contest will most likely represent the ACC in the playoffs this season.
Both programs have two dynamic players at the quarterback position in Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson. Louisville’s Lamar Jackson is the front-runner to win the Heisman Trophy in 2016. A breath-taking performance tomorrow will guarantee that Jackson will win the Heisman Trophy in mid-December. If you watch any of Clemson’s games this season, they have not looked impressive.
Except for South Carolina State, the Tigers have struggled to put away common opponents such as Auburn and Troy State. They must not come out sluggish against Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals. Jackson can hurt the Tigers defense in multiple ways if they allow him to.
The best way that I believe Clemson’s defense will be able to defend Lamar Jackson is if they make him a pocket passer and not allow him to become a runner. Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson will need to have a repeat performance like he did against Alabama in last year’s National Championship game for the Tigers to win this football game.
They must not allow the Cardinals to come in and take them to the woodshed like Florida State did back in 2013, when both teams were undefeated, and the Tigers lost by a whopping 31 points.
Similar to this game, the Tigers were facing a Heisman Trophy candidate in Jameis Winston, who would lit up the Tigers defense for 444 yards and three touchdown passes.
The Tigers must not have another repeat performance going against another Heisman Trophy candidate. My prediction for this ball game is that Deshaun Watson and the Clemson Tigers will put an end to the Lamar Jackson hype train and continue their quest towards a National Title. The Tigers shall win this game, but it will not be easy.
